Day 1: Transfer to Jinja
We leave in the afternoon for Jinja to Kampala which takes about two hours. We shall take a walk along the Nile before hopping onto to the boat to go see the Source of the World’s longest River.
Right after this activity, we shall head over to your lodge where you will have dinner and have an overnight stay; at Nalubale Rafting camp.
Day 2: White water rafting.
In the morning we shall meet fellow rafters and guides of the day while having breakfast for briefing. You are going to need all your energy, so make sure to eat up all your breakfast. A light lunch is provided on the river to help keep your energy levels up throughout this sports activity. After the
briefing you will be given life jackets and helmets before heading to the starting point by the river.
Once at the river’s edge, you will be given detailed
safety briefing and after that, you will be given some practical instructions of what to do and what not during the activity. As the river meanders through beautiful scenery, you will be guided about the mighty challenges of some of the biggest and safest grade 5 rapids Eight major rapids are rafted plus several lower graded runs, all selected to maximize your safety and fun. A stop before grade 4 and 5 rapids will be made to explain to you the planned route on the river. Remember if you feel exhausted or you have had enough adventure, you are feel to join the safety boat and take it is easy while you sail down the river which
is also fun. Calm stretches of water separate the rapids – perfect for getting your breath back, taking a swim and enjoying the scenery.
At the end of this activity, you will be proud of yourself of how far you have come after conquering 20kms of the world’s longest River.
You will then return to your
lodge for dinner and relaxation.
Day 3: Transfer to Siipi falls
After breakfast and we shall embark on another journey further East to the land of waterfalls. Siipi falls are waterfalls are located on the foot prints of Mt Elgon, immerse yourself in the views of the Eastern Rift valley during the drive while we make several stops to capture some beautiful nature shots. When we arrive late afternoon, you can choose to go for an optional abseiling on the highest waterfall or a sunset walking tour. Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight Crowsnest/Rafiki resort/Lacam Lodge.
Day 4: Hike to the falls and coffee tour.
After breakfast we shall meet up with a local guide who will take us on a hike through various waterfalls.
Have your camera ready and bottled water while you get ready to learn about the culture of the people living in the Mountains of Elgon. This region is also known for its beautiful sceneries of the Eastern Rift Valley, so keep your eyes open.
These waterfalls are the highest in Uganda at (100 metres high). Return to your lodge for lunch and take a break before the afternoon activity. Later we shall go for a coffee tour illustrated by local farmers.
You will learn about the coffee process from planting to until its ready to consume. You will learn how to pick, roast and pound coffee using a wooden motor. You will participate in making your own coffee and also carry some back home if interested.
Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe airport.
We will have breakfast before heading back to Kampala. We shall stop in Jinja for lunch before proceeding to Kampala. On the arrival to the city we shall transfer you to Entebbe International Airport or your hotel.
