Tour itinerary.

Day 1:

You will be picked up from the airport and driven
to western Uganda through the green countryside of Fort Portal which lies in
the shadow of the Ruwenzori Mountains. Right after your lunch break, you will
have a guided walk around the crater lakes area. You will visit the “Top of the
World” which has amazing views of some crater lakes in the region, Kibale
forest and mountain Rwenzori.

You will later be driven to your lodge for dinner
and spend an overnight at:

Safari Lodge/ Primates Lodge (Luxury)

Day 2: 

Chimpanzee trekking and an onward transfer to Queen
Elizabeth National Park.

After breakfast you will be driven to the park
headquarters for the briefing about the chimpanzee trekking. The guides
will provide you with Dos and Don’ts in the forest and as well as detailed info
of the primates available. You will likely encounter other primates like the Grey
cheeked Mangabeys, Colobus monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys as well as birds and
butterflies. You will travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park after Lunch. There
will be a Game drive on the way to your Lodge.

Day 3:

You will have an early morning Coffee/Tea before
going for a morning game drive. The big game is known to be in abundance at this hour because the mornings are cooler. You will encounter a variety of the wild like elephants, buffaloes, water bucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda Kobs, lots of birds and some rarer animals.

You will visit the Kichwamba Escarpment which overlooks the Western Rift valley for a nature or community walk and in here lies Queen Elizabeth National Park. This walk will also give you a glimpse of how of the rural people live their lives by participating in community activities like crop
harvesting and brewing of local gin.

After Lunch we shall go for a boat cruise on the
Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and George. You will have chance to view lots of animals and birds like hippos, buffalos, elephants, kingfishers, marabou storks and so on. There are 638 recorded bird species in the park so you cannot miss out. You will be returned to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay as above.

Day 4: 

You will travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
National Park with a game drive through Ishasha to look out for the tree climbing lions. Depending on how you feel after arrival, you will go for a walk
within the Bwindi community.

Dinner and your overnight stay will either be at the
Gorilla Forest Camp or Buhoma Lodge (Luxury)

 Engagi Safari Lodge or Silverback Lodge (Midrange)

 Buhoma Community Rest Camp/Bwindi View Bandas (Budget).

Day 5: 

This is the day you will go tracking the gorillas. You
will have breakfast at 7:30 am before you head out for briefing with the ranger guides which starts at 8 am. Carry enough water, packed lunch, rain jacket,
gloves, insect repellent and nit forgetting good hiking boots. The guides will lead you inside the jungle to one of your once in a lifetime experience where you get to witness these beautiful and amazing primates. The tracking may take
between 2 and 9 hours depending on the group you have been assigned and mind you it will be worth every step you take on this hike. Depending on the time you finish or how your body feels, you can spend the afternoon on a community walk/nature walk or just reading a book.

Dinner and overnight stay is as stated above.

Day 6: 

Right after breakfast is served, we shall drive via
Mbarara on our way to Lake Mburo National Park. We shall enter the Park through the Western Gate at Sanga where the game drive will begin. The Park is located on a series of swamp-fringed lakes known for their rich birdlife, notably the secretive African finfoot. The green acacia woodland surrounding the lake harbours dense populations of Zebra, Warthog, Buffalo, Impala and various other grazers, including the last surviving Ugandan population of Eland, the largest of African antelope. You will arrive at the Lodge in time for lunch and later have an afternoon rest. You will have your dinner and overnight stay at
Mihingo Lodge (Luxury)

Mantana Tented Camp (Midrange) 

Arcadia Cottages (Budget).

Day 7: 

You will have a morning game drive before going for a boat ride on Lake Mburo. The lake is rich with a diversity of animals and plant species which you will view while on your boat cruise. There are some hippos and birds like African Fin foot, Pelicans, Black crake, Herons, cormorants, fish eagles and so much more to see.

Later return to the lodge for your Dinner and overnight stay as mentioned above.

Day 8: 

After breakfast you will proceed to Kampala or
Entebbe with a quick stop at the Equator.

You will arrive in Kampala or onwards to Entebbe to
catch your flight.

You will have your overnight stay at Serena/Golf
Course Hotel /Protea Hotel (Luxury)

Grand Imperial/Boma Guest House (Midrange)

Red Chilli (budget).

Meal plan: Bed and Breakfast
